More About Xarelto

Xarelto belongs to the class of drugs called Direct Xa Inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), and has been shown to help lower blood pressure. Other drugs in this class are Fondaparinux and Fondaparinux Sodium. Xarelto is used to treat and prevent blood clots, as it is a prescription blood thinner. It is supposed to lower the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). While Xarelto is often effective, it is also strongly linked to many side effects, such as uncontrollable internal bleeding, stroke, brain hemorrhage, stroke, and even death.

Signs & Symptoms

In some users, Xarelto has been linked to gastrointestinal bleeding, uncontrollable internal bleeding, brain hemorrhage, stroke, and even death. In January 2014, the FDA released a warning of the association between Xarelto use and the risk of internal bleeding. In March of 2014, the FDA also required warning label updates on the product to inform about this risk.

Diagnosis

If you experience any of the aforementioned symptoms and have taken Xarelto or other prescription drugs in the Direct Xa Inhibitors group, seek medical attention immediately. As of 2015, there are over 2,000 cases involved in Xarelto litigation.
